- யுனெஸ்கோ அமைப்பு, பிப்ரவரி 2-ஆம் நாளை ஈர நில நாள் (2 February World Wetlands Day) என அறிவித்துள்ளது.
- ஈர நிலங்கள் பல்லுயிர் பெருக்க உதவுகிறது.
- கடல்கோள் என்னும் சுனாமி அலைகளை தடுக்கிறது.
- கடல் நீர் உட்புகாமல் தடுக்கிறது. வெள்ள நீரை உள்வாங்கி வெள்ள சேதத்தை தடுக்கிறது.
World Wetlands Day 2019 - 2 February 2019
- 2 February is World Wetlands Day.
- This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in Ramsar, Iran.
- It commemorates the need to maintain the ecological character of wetlands and to plan 'wise' for its sustainable use.
- World Wetlands Day 2019 theme is "Wetlands and Climate Change".
