World Population Day 11th July
- World Population day is an annual event, observed on July 11 every year, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues.
- World Population Day, which seeks to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues, was established by the then-Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989, an outgrowth of the interest generated by the Day of Five Billion, which was observed on 11 July 1987.
உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினம் - ஜூலை 11
- ஆண்டுதோறும் உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினம் ஜூலை 11 அன்று கடைபிடிக்கப் படுகிறது.
- உலக மக்கள்தொகை, 500 கோடியை எட்டிய நாள் 1987-ம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 11-ம் நாள் ஆகும்.
- ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவை, முதன்முறையாக உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினத்தை 1989 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 11 ஆம் நாள் கொண்டாடியது.
- உலக மக்கள் தொகையில், சீனா 141.5 கோடி (18.5 %) மக்கள் தொகையுடன் முதலிடத்திலும், இந்தியா 135.4 கோடி(17.7 %) மக்கள் தொகையுடன் இரண்டாவது இடத்திலும் உள்ளன.
- 2018 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினக் கருப்போருள்: குடும்ப கட்டுப்பாடு திட்டமிடல் ஒரு மனித உரிமை (Family Planning is a Human Right) என்பதாகும்.

2018 World Population Day theme:“Family Planning is a Human Right”
- This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1968 International Conference on Human Rights, where family planning was, for the first time, globally affirmed to be a human right.
